Proper Makeup Brush Care

BEAUTY TIPS

Don't you just love all of the different makeup brushes that are available on the market?  There is probably a brush for any look you are desiring.  There are lip, cheek, face, eyes, contouring and more.

Makeup brushes can be pretty expensive, depending on the types of hairs they have.  So why not take proper care of them?

Have you ever thought about all of the germs that are sitting on your brushes?  Think about it.  You probably use them over and over and aren't even thinking about all of the natural oils, dust, skin cells and dirt that are collecting on them. There is a lot of bacteria in those brushes and those bacteria can cause acne, blemishes and other skin problems.

Have no fear.  I am here to give you some tips on keeping your brushes clean.  Of course, you should monitor your brushes depending on use.

By keeping your brushes clean, they will last longer and your skin will be happy.

There are cleaners on the market that you can spray onto your brushes after use.  The spray kills bacteria.  You should use a daily cleaner after each use.  Many are alcohol free so they won't dry out your brushes.  To use them, you simply spray them on your brushes and wipe them clean on a paper towel or soft cloth.  Check your favorite beauty retailers for a brand that works for you. They run about $10.

Once a week, you should deep clean your brushes.  You should purchase a gentle brush cleanser and wash them with warm water,   You don't want to get the brushes soaked, so please read the directions on your product for proper instructions and always reshape the bristles before letting them air dry.  I like to dry my brushes by hanging them upside down so they keep their shape.

Always store your brushes in the case they came in and try not to let them touch each other.  If you keep your brushes in a glass jar or upright container, try to line the bottom with coffee beans or glass beads so you can place them in there and they stay in place.

I hope these tips were helpful beauties!

Have a beauty filled day!

AHAVA Deadsea Water Mineral Hand Cream with Prickly Pear and Moringa Review #bbloggers

I was recently given the opportunity to review AHAVA Deadsea Water Mineral Hand Cream with Prickly Pear and Moringa.

I really like this hand cream. I saw immediate results when I applied it to my dry scaly hands. The looked so shiny and moisturized and felt so soft.  The cream has a very nice texture that isn't thin like some hand creams.  It is a bit thicker and stays where you apply it.  I work it into my skin and get a good penetration of nourishment.

The cream smells really pretty with a light energetic scent that is invigorating.  The prickly pear and moringa scent combination is very pretty and somewhat tropical.

Active ingredients in this product:

  • Allantoin heals dry cracked skin and blemishes
  •  Witch Hazel extracts sanitizes and smoothes skin, providing a refreshing, revitalizing effect

This hand cream is available at:

ENTER TO WIN! World's Best Lip Balm Dispenser - Balmshot #madeinusa

LOADED WITH LIPBALM ... NOT BUCKSHOT

BALMSHOT is a wonderful lip balm product that is made right here is the USA.

Each beeswax lip balm has SPF 15 and is designed to protect your lips from sunburn.  It has natural oils to help keep your lips soft.

The unique shotgun shell dispenser is designed to keep BALMSHOT from causing a gooey mess in your pockets or purse.  The dispenser has an advantage over its competitors because of its dispenser.  They do not unintentionally twist or rotate.  Unlike standard lip balms that have knurled disk base that turns and rotates easily, allowing them to rotate and twist in your pocket, pants, jackets, purse and more, creating a sticky mess, BALMSHOT  will not do this.   It has a tighter fitting cap and firmer turning base that will only advance and retract if you want it to.

I love that I can control the lipbalm and not have to worry about it rolling up in my pocket and leaking.  The cap fit nice and tight.

The balm itself feel nice and cool on my lips and glides on nicely.  I like having the SPF 15 protection too!

BALMSHOT varieties include:

CLASSIC

NATURAL ORGANIC

COOLMINT

PURE PINK

and

PINK CAMO

Did you know that BALMSHOT makes quarterly donations from the proceeds of every purchase of Pure Pink and Pink Camo lip balms to the Mountain States Tumor Institute to help women pay for mammograms, biopsies and breast cancer treatments?  I think this is a wonderful gesture and will help to save lives from early detection.

Why Water Should Be the Most Important Item In Your Beauty Kit

We all have our favorite beauty products and brands.   But did you know that water is probably the most important item you should have in your beauty kit?

It is a known fact that water helps keep your skin looking good.  According to WebMd, your skin contains plenty of water, and functions as a protective barrier to prevent excess fluid loss.

Water nourishes skin.  When you are dehydrated your fine lines and wrinkles look deeper.  By drinking more water, you are hydrating and plumping your skin cells, making them look younger.

Water also helps to flush out impurities in your body and improves circulation and blood flow, which helps give your skin a natural glow.

Here are 11 ways to help incorporate more water into your diet from Webmd.

1. Create a water drinking schedule:  Set certain times that you more water. For example, you may want to drink 1 glass when you wake in the morning, and one before bedtime.

2. Get a portable water bottle that you can take along with you. It is also eco-friendly.

3. Make some fruity seltzer.  Add a bit of fruit juice or fresh fruit to seltzer water or club soda.  Juices like, cranberry and pomegranate are great additions.  The options are endless.

4. Make a pitcher of ice water with fresh cut veggies, like cucumber or strawberries and let it sit in your fridge for a couple of hours.  It is delicious and refreshing.

5. Drink decaf tea.  It is hydrating and relaxing.

6. Drink milk.  Low fat and fat free milk help to hydrate the skin and give you calcium.  You can also enjoy a cup of yogurt which is 85% water.  Plant milks help hydrate as well.

7. Drink more broth.  When you go out to lunch, order a broth based soup.  It will hydrate you and help keep you full.

8. Eat a salad.  Salads are packed with water enriched veggies and are low caloried, as long as you are careful of what dressings you put on them.

9. Eat watermelon.  Watermelon is made of 91% water and is a delicious way to get more water in your diet.  You can even slice and freeze it for a delicious frozen treat.

10. Have more broccoli.  It is made up of 90% water and is packed with nutrition.  It can be eaten raw or cooked.

11. Enjoy your coffee.  2 cups of coffee a day can help you reach your water intake.

Get out there and drink your water beauties!
